I'm seeing a ramp truck in your future with a cut-down cargo area in front of the ramp...

That is as bad to the bone as it gets right there. I would like to have it ready to rock for the mopar nationals as my buddy and I are getting a swap meet space there. I want to pull my car hauler with it, and take a load of parts in the box. I'm super jazzed up as I just confirmed with my tow truck buddy that we are on track tomorrow morning to bring it home. My youngest son is nagging me and complaining about me getting it at all. I told him to stow his opinion on it until he is the one putting money into the cars and making the house payments. Lol. It actually shut him up for a few minutes. Haha. We have a farm, so space is not a problem.

Well got the box van home. The tow truck driver did a great job getting it backed down our gravel road. The truck was packed full of boat interior pieces and furniture. Which of course the last owner waited until I got there to start unloading it. I just unbolted the driveline and tied it up so it could tow. They initially told me the gas tank was rusty and that's why it wasn't drivable. But after it was hooked up to the truck the one guy tells me there is a hole in the tank, bad distributor module, leaking heater core and bypassed core lines. Couple rotted deck boards, etc. On the plus side the box is longer than expected, which is a big bonus. So, I'll do some research on parts and costs and go from there to start. For getting it free, the room is there in the budget to get it up and running and in use.

That looks almost like an 18’ box truck...nice!

When I paced it off, it came out at 21'. Not adding the overhead. But I will grab a tape measure and verify it for sure. Looking at gas tanks for it they are not cheap at all. Like starting at $500. So I am hoping I can repair it or find a cheap used one. Its a heavy steel tank.

Well you were right. It's an 18' box. Got it cleaned up and have been trouble shooting the no start issue. Lol, no turn over issue. Got a good battery in it, but the check engine light is all that comes on. Not to worry though, my son's just graduated with asce certifications. So I've got the right guys to figure it out. Haha. They will love me for that I'm sure.

Just tell him it's preparation for his post-graduate studies!

Lol. That is a great idea. Haha, I'll try to get him to take it to the community college fall start of his 2 year continuing education program he is doing to get his additional training.

A good radiator shop will clean and weld that tank up if it's not all rotted out.

I was wondering about that. I haven't pulled it out yet, but the guy said it was a small hole in it. So I'm not sure if it's from rot or impact. It looks like a fairly thick burly gauge of metal. So I don't know if it's more likely to be rot or damage.

Neutral safety switch?
Does it turn over if you jump the starter with a screwdriver ?

I'm going to try that here shortly. I was told that the ignition module on the distributor was faulty. But it should still turn over with a bad module I would think. I had to order a distributor module wrench to get it removed without pulling the distributor out. I need to get back to trouble shooting the box van, but I've been putting the time in on the big block duster. As much as I want to use the box van to haul swap meet stuff and the car hauler with the duster to the mopar nationals. If the duster isnt done, lol, what's the point. It's just been pissing rain here the last few days and the duster is dry in the shop, the box is sitting out on my gravel road where the tow truck dropped it at.
