2-727s rebuilding 1, question

I have never rebuilt a automatic transmission yet, but I have a 1979 727 with a lock up and a 68 727 both for small blocks. The kit I have is B&M part no 10229 for non lock up.
The one I will be using the 1968. is there any parts that are better or improved in the 79 lock up that will fit and improve the 68 transmission and is there a difference between the 2 besides the valve body and converter.

is it? it has 727 cast into the bell housing, or is a518 just a number tagged on to designate a lockup on a 727?

The numbers on the 79 lockup are PK4058314
And the 68 are 3892038

The input shaft is different. They also changed quite a few internals in that time span.

Thanks, I saw that.Been looking in to it so I decided to rebuild the lock up later so I will need it whole now.
