Okay, having some issues with over charging on the Duster. Here is what I have.
70 Duster with an unknown engine wiring harness in it.
New voltage regulator, 2 wires from it, green and blue.
New alternator with one field connector.
When the blue wire is connected to the alternator, it charges, but at idle it's at 14, at 2k it's at 17 and at 3k it's above 18.
When the green wire is connected, it doesn't charge.
So, the basic question is, since I only have 1 field connection, do I ground the green connection, or tie it into the blue connection, or what?
I can provide voltage and ohm readings here in a bit after I chase the youngest back to homework.
Thanks,
Scott
