2 Piece Speedo Cable Assembly ???

Part of my 72 Demon's speedo cable is missing. It appears that it has a 2 piece cable assembly. The cable is there from the tranny up to some kind of housing. But then the other cable from the housing to the gauge cluster is gone. Does anyone know of 1 available. Also, what it that housing thingeee and what does it do.

Should I just eliminate that setup and run a 1 piece cable ??

Top part is about 22 to 24 inchs, Bottom part is 38 inchs. If what I have is what you need you can have it for shipping. It is a small world! Lets see some pics of the Demon...........
