2006 charger transmission lunging problem revisited

Hey folks,

I believe the lunging/stalling problem that is normally blamed on the transmission control module Is well known. My son is taking his car to the dealer to verify that this is the problem. Assuming it is, does anyone know how easy replacing a TCM is for an average mechanic. I normally do all of my own work, but I do not want to be in over my head and then decide I need to bring it back to the dealer.

It's easy to replace, under the dash panel next to the audio amp I believe. But it will need to go to the dealer anyway for programming.
