2014 Qualicum Beach Father's Day car show - lots of pictures

I took the Dart to this year's Father's Day show n' shine in Qualicum Beach yesterday, and although it rained in the morning, it cleared up to be a pretty nice day. I was parked next to Mark (moopa) in his survivor/unrestored '69 Charger 383, a '65 Canadian Valiant, a '71 Duster 340, and a '74 Dart Sport Hang 10 360. Pretty good turn out considering the weather. I didn't come close to taking pics of everything, but I took pics of things that stood out to me.

This is a friend's car. They've also got a cool '50's Ford pickup and a '68 Chevelle 396.

Glad to hear it Bruce! Thunderstorms the first time we went, then heavy rain last year on the drive home.

Here are some more.

At first I thought this was a concept car because of the front end, but realized it was someone's homemade grill.









This is a friend's Dart. I gave him 4 very nice doors for it, so hopefully they'll go to good use.



A guy who was interested in buying my '65 Valiant mentioned he was building a '65 Barracuda. This is it here.







Very nice survivor car.





I spoke with the owner of this GTX at the gas station after the show. Before finding this GTX at an estate sale, he was mainly into small British cars. It had a healthy 440 in it.

This Hemi Cuda won Best Mopar, and Best 70's. A friend was speaking with the owner, who apparently has a resto shop a few towns over, has a pretty reasonable shop rate, and restored this car by himself. It was very, very clean.





A guy stopped by to buy some parts from me a while back, and mentioned that he just picked up a '73 Dart with a 383 off Craigslist.













This '39 Fargo is local. He's running a 413 in it.









On the way home, behind the guy with the '69 GTX I mentioned.

This show is huge, and gets bigger each year. Apparently it was on Oprah's list of things to do for Father's Day.
