2023 14th Annual FABO NASCAR "Pick 'Em" Game - Here We Go Again!!!

-
After these few years I'm still baffled by the points system, but (I think ??) I had -8 and only gained -4  or it's just me :(

Your point total before this race was 228.5 points.
Your race picks finished 7th (#9 Elliott) and 1st (#24 Byron) = 8 points. Average of both race picks is +4 points.
Your #24 Byron pick finished in 2nd place after Stage 1 (-1 bonus point), and was in 1st place after Stage 2 (-2 bonus points).
#24 Byron won the race (-5 bonus points).

228.5 -1 (Stage 1) -2 (Stage 2) +4 (Avg. of race finish positions for both race picks) -5 (race winner bonus) = 224.5 points after the race

No Coke Zero 400 at Daytona Pole pick bonus.
#14 Chase Briscoe was quickest around Daytona during qualifying yesterday but nobody picked him to sit on the Pole today.

@memike, I hope you're feeling better.
I will carry over your NASCAR picks from the past two weeks if you don't post updated picks for Daytona tonight.

Daytona CZS desperation picks...

#9 Chase Elliott
#48 Alex Bowman

15 barrel rolls is what I counted.

Thanks to Bell for wiping out Blaney

My first disagreement of the year Yunic, no offense at all but , can't say I have ever agreed on a wreck taking competition out, I have not seen the race yet but I do know Blainy is a top contender and one of the best pushers in the business.
And I know you must know I am a big Ford Penske fan, good luck to everyone this season my friend

That Blaney hit sure reminded me of the Earnhardt wreck that took his life. Glad Blaney was sort of okay, although he looked stunned, as could be expected. Hope Preece is well also. Get rid of the damn grass at all these tracks.

True that, I haven't seen it yet, but the grass must go ! I agree

Racing Announcements:
  • From AP News this morning (08/27/23): Ryan Preece is "awake, alert, and mobile". He was hospitalized overnight for continued observation immediately following his wild crash in yesterday's Coke Zero 400. He will be evaluated again today with another update expected this afternoon
  • Kurt Busch formally retired from the NASCAR Cup Series yesterday saying he's been unable to shake the lingering effects of a significant concussion suffered a year ago during a qualifying crash at Pocono. He also said he was taking prerace shots last summer just so he could move his knee and move his feet due to arthritis.

Nobody picked the Coke Zero Sugar 400 race winner #17 Chris Buescher so no bonus points this week.
Congratulations also to '44070dart' (FABO) for picking race runner-up #6 Brad Keselowski. He picked up -3 bonus points for the pick.

#19 Martin Truex Jr. was the race leader at the end of Stage 1, #20 Christopher Bell was in 2nd place.
#6 Brad Keselowski was the race leader at the end of Stage 2, #8 Kyle Busch.

'fishmens67' (FABO) had the low-net score honor for the race with 4.5 points.

Please post your picks for the next race and let me know if you want to "lock" them in for future weeks. I will put an "L" before either your Pole pick or your race picks to show they've been "locked".
As always, you can always make different picks each week. Your "locked" picks will always be there should you forget to post your race picks, your computer malfunctions or the site should go down temporarily.

Don't forget to get your picks for the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway posted before the green flag drops at approximately 6:15pm EDT (3:15pm PDT) on Sunday, September 3.

Your Pole Pick for Daytona will need to be posted before qualifying starts at 1:20pm EDT (10:20am PDT) on Saturday, September 2.

I had Blaney as a pick to win. Bell ruined my chances of having a good night points wise when he got into the back of Gibbs, which wiped out Blaney and most of the field.

If you would gave noticed my picks to win, you wouldn't have disagreed with me.
