26x8.00?

Checked the date code on the 235/60r15 M/T drag radials that were on my 74 Dart when I got it a few years ago. August 2005. So, thinking about going with Hoosier 26x8.00 slicks. I have stock steel wheels, springs in the stock location, the inner fenders have been trimmed. I have a good inch on both sides and about 2-3 inches front & back with the 235's. Will the 26x8.00 slicks work & will I need to run tubes?

I don't run tubes in my slicks and there are a lot of tire size downloads for comparison.

Also looking at the new MT Pro Bracket radials in 26x8.5. Did some measuring, think I have enough room.

Went with the Pro Brackets in 26x8.5. They fit great. Just need some time to get out to the track now.
