273 commando carb

Hi, I have a 273 motor and just got a commando intake to put on it. I’m looking for the stock carter AFB 4 barrel carb to go with it or what other carb fits on that intake? I had a Holley 600 laying around and put it to it and the bolt pattern was off.

You can get a "straight through" carb 4bbl adapter and make it work. You bolt it to the manifold with screws that sink down in the adapter inboard holes, with studs/ nuts sticking up out of the outboard holes. you can even put an Carter/ Edelbrock AFB on there. Some? All? of them have two sets of holes

There are all kinds of configurations:

Try to get one that closely matches the holes in your intake, if you get the right kind you can even "port match" the thing. Similar to this:

Short screws fit in the inner holes down into your manifold, the carb is held on with the studs and nuts on the bottom
