Hey everyone. I just want to verify when using the 273 adjustable rockers on a 340, I have to use the 340 T/A pushrods due to being a hydrolic lifter but mechanical rockers. Please correct me if im wrong. Also where can I get the spacers for the rocker arms? I will be using the shaft clamps/bolts from the stocker 340 valvetrane.
Anything else I need to be aware of?
Thanks guys

went using 273 rockers on a 340, use the pushrod that goes with the lifter....crane/comp and a bunch other make two lengths of pushrods...

one for adjustable rockers with hydraulic lifters..

one for adjustable rockers with solid lifters...

the hydraulic lifter pushrod are generally shorter due to the location of the plunger of on lifter..

Some folks have been able to use the T/A pushrods but I usually find that they are too long when using the 273 rockers with hydraulic lifters. I would suggest measuring the actual required length to see if the T/A pushrods will work. If they do, great, if not, have Smitth Bros or Manton make you the correct length pushrods.

Ah ok. I assume that I will have to get the kit to measure the pushrods then.

Also where can I get the rocker arm spacers? I think I found the correct ones from Comp Cam and Mopar Performance but I wanted to verify first.

spacers as between the rockers?

mancini racing has the various sizes of spacers..

Your best bet will be to buy a push rod length checker that way you can be sure of the correct length. They have them on Ebay and they are usually reasonably priced for singles and the set of three for Mopars.

make sure there is clearance between the rockers and the valve spring, you may need to do some grinding so they clear....
