273 with a miss

Thats the same tach that I have ,it was working great until about a week ago. Now it works for about 30 seconds when I first start the engine then starts fluttering around and needle goes to zero ,I can turn off the engine then start it right back and it does it all over again whether the advance is hooked up or not. I think I need to try it on another vehicle and see what happens.

engine runs great now just like its supposed to
I checked all the wire connectios on tach , must be tach itself , I'll replace it when I run across another cheap one . Thanks again . The info gained from this site is indeed priceless
 
What kind of gas milage do you get with your 273?
Mine is getting 10 around town and 15 on the hwy
is this normal for a stock 4 barrel 273 car with automatic
 
I have a 66 Dart with a HP273 and a 4 speed, and I have got as high as 20 on the highway(@55 mph). I would say 15 in town if I don't hot rod it too much.
