has anyone ever used this cam in A 340 A-body and would A 3000 converter work well with it ? my 69 dart is stock weight, lightly ported j-heads(2.02) 10.0 compression, air gap intake 3310 holley, 3.73 gears, full length street headers with dual 2-1/2 exhaust, thanks for all the help

I have one in my 68,360 jheads performer rpm 650 dbl pmpr 9.5 cr,2800 stall,3.23 gears,ss springs. It is one fun ride.

As long as you get a good one it should work fine. Not as good as a modern grind, but decent nevertheless.

The reason I said "as long as you get a good one" is because the last one I degreed in was 8 degrees off. I have heard of quality issues with them from others too.

Agree with fishy, they are a little long on duration which looses a little low end left on the table, but it should be ok!

But if you are getting a new cam look at the comp cams in the 268 or so grinds, more likely a better combo for what you are doing.

good luck:)

Had one in a previous 340 not impressed with it at all, they're MUCH better cams out there...

I had one in a 360 back in the 70`s. I believe you can probably find better grinds today but if you`re set on getting that particular cam, it would work well with your combo.
