318 2bbl. most CFM output for small bore manifold

Anyone able to tell me which model carb for the small bore intake manifold, for 318, puts out the most CFM? without an adapter plate.

holley 500, which is aggravating.

I thought that that size carb had the bigger bolt pattern, found on 360's?

I put one on my 318 back in 70's; don't remember an adaptor.

Well yes that's technically correct on the no adapter. They made some small block 2 barrels in the late 60s and 70s with holley 2 barrels instead of carter 2 barrels. This would not require an adapter for a holley 500. In the case of the Carter 2 barrel application manifolds, which were more common, it is a likely possibility that an adapter may be required
