I'm kind of confused - I have a 73 Dart Sport, 318 car, has no mounts with it (but where they hook into the frame is there), putting in another 318. I look up parts for it & see different mount styles and odd extra pieces. Can anyone tell me everything I'll need, engine block to frame, and hook me up with a rec. for where I can get good quality pieces? I do appreciate it! ~Scott in TX

There should be mounts that tie in the engine to the K frame. I am not sure if the mounts on the K frame are cast into the frame or bolted but I believe that they are welded in and the motor mounts attach to the block and then the frame by 4 bolts and a long bolt that runs through the motor mount into a threaded bolt which is cast into the mount.

Yep, the receiving pieces are on the K frame. But 1-piece, 2-piece, insulator, spool-type... I look up the parts and still don't know what I need to order to get it done.

Cooool! Thanks - the only thing spookin' me is they list these mounts to fit so many cars & I know the 360s & 318s have different driver's side mounts... unless these are a special type that really does fit everything... heck, so long as they fit my 73 Dart that's enough for me. :)

What are your thoughts?

I appreciate the link and if you say they're the ones, I'll get 'em and be happy.

If you have a 318 from 73 - 75 those are the mounts you need. You can always check the date code on the block. The numbers should be cast into the block on the lower drivers side of the block It would have a date code such as 06-20-73 (example)

No I believe the ones I sent you a link to are the correct ones. If the block was from the 60's then the mounts may be different. Oh I forgot, Welcome to FABO!!!!

No Problem. Ask away any questions out here. There is a wealth of knowledgeable people out here who encourage this. That's part of the FABO Brotherhood out here. Please post pics of your ride when you get a chance!!!!

Bisquit or spool are different. Brackets on engine ( 318,340,360) are different, according to year, but the rubber mount, if non-spool, doesn't know the diff. spool only sees the frame mount. If this makes sense.

Excellent. Thank you again! Here's the Dart Sport. It's getting a warmed over balanced .060 over 318 with a tunnel ram & 2 4s, and a 3-speed manual floor shift. The engine will gleam; for now I'm leaving the rest ratty, the patina is just amazing inside & out.

EVH not really; ash Strat, sure. It's on the curve... the 60s ones are out of sight, and they drag the 70s up too. Happy to take a look at it when I'm there!

Your next question might be... how do they attach to the block. Here are a couple pics of a 318 I recently pulled:
You can see that they attach to the rear of the ears.
