318 engine question

I have a 4104230-318-2 engine.It,s out of a 81 Diplomat Police Car.It has a 4 bll carb.I was told it has a 360 cam.I,m just wondering if someone knows the HP.Thanks

The casting number on the heads are 4027596-A;Which are 360 Heads.It has a double roller timing chain.I come up with 165 HP but i was thinking it may be alittle more ? In the Diplomat;it did 0 to 60 12.84 sec.I,m planing on putting this in my 72 Dart which is about a 1000 lbs lighter and i have a 410 posi.The top speed in the diplomat was 19.38 sec.1/4 mile at speed of 75 mph.
 
the mopar manual shows the 360 headed 318 @ 230 hp. the 318 headed is 225 hp. the cam is not a360 cam specs, it has less lift, its only /390 int , 420 exh.
both engines used a T.Q . carb.
 
Idk to me that's really slow for quarter time i know its a heavy car guess it depends on how much your paying if its worth it or not i only put about 1200 into my 225 dart sport and ran low 13 high 12
 
Those Dippys were always dogs in the quarter, they're heavy, smogged to the max, ridiculously high rear end gears, lockup converter, etc... I'm surprised they do 19's in the quarter. That same engine in a Dart would probably be in the high 14's in the quarter.
 
HEY.Thanks on the imformation.The crank number is suppose to be 2658393.What ever that means.The 81 Diplomat weight 3851 lbs and it had a gear of 294 : 1.I guess it was a good thing they had radio,s in thoughs Police Cars.I bought the engine last Summer for a 100.00 dollars.I brought it home and started it up on the garge floor.It only turned over once and started.Scared the blank out of me lol.All your help is helping me understand the engine more.I was wondering if they were a HP Engine.

I found this number ,just below the cylinder head. 2 318 01150548.Does anyone know what this number means.Thanks.
