Summit has on their website Mopar small block cylinder head gaskets in bore sizes 3.625", 3.75", 4.02", 4.06", 4.14", and 4.18". The gaskets also are available in various compressed thicknesses. What cylinder head gaskets should I order for a stock 1976 318 with a lot of miles on it? The motor has never been rebuilt.

Why the gasket change? If your going that far why not get a Felpro kit for a 318.That will have all the gaskets you need with the proper sizes,or check Felpro to see what size is in thier kit?

I think the 4.06 is what's generally used. I just wanted to add that while a thin gasket will get you a little more compression, if your just R & R ing the gaskets and not surfacing the heads or block you better stay on the thicker side to be safe. I would probably go at least in the .039 range or maybe a hair more. You really should straight edge both surfaces to see how much there out, and they will be out some. Just my opinion, i'm sure you'll get others.

The Felpro kit has more gaskets than I need. I just need the cylinder head gaskets and intake manifold gaskets. How about if I use Mopar Performance composite head gasket part number P4120093 for $31.95 or Mr Gasket 5805G steel core laminated for $34.95?

Mopar Performance composite head gasket part number P4120093 is $31.95 for a set of two. Mr Gasket 5805G steel core laminated is $34.95 each.

Two good choices in my opinion. I'd use the MP gaskets if i was choosing between those.
"70aarcuda" has a good one also, but at .028, unless your surfaces are machined flat, i like the thicker gasket.
