318 motor mounts

I dont remember how the motor mounts were on my 318. I know their is a thread on here about this but I cant find it. Can you guys lend a hand?

I am not quite sure what you mean. Are you confused about which of the two different shaped mounting brackets goes on a given side of the engine? If so, this picture may help by virtue of elimination.

What I meant was what side of the tabs on the block does the mount bolt onto, front or rear?

I think The mounts are on wrong. I tried to drop in the engine and when the mount bolts are in the holes the engine isnt strait.

When I swapped my 318 for a 340, I had to loosen up the trans mounts and pull the motor forward slightly to drop in. Mine was the spool type but should not matter. My 340 mounts went on the rear of the ears also

try swap the mounts right to left and left to right, not positive but they look side specific.

Are all the brackets the same, the ones that came on this motor are from a 68 B body. I tried to swap sides and it wont work. I think I need brackets!
