318 noise after turned off

So after I shut the engine off there is this odd ticking noise coming from the passenger side of the motor for about a minute or so. No noise while its running. It sounds like its coming from under the valve cover. What could it be?

Exhaust manifold cooling down probably.
There is ZERO reasons it would be anything else.

I did say probably.

If you think about it you will probably remember hearing that same sound from other people's cars in the parking lot at stores and other places people pull in and shut their car off.

The manifold on that side of the car has the spring loaded heat control valve so I assume that could be why I hear it on that side of the car.
