No I didn't watch the entire video just skimmed my way through it but it looks like the main journals were ground undersize .010? and standard bearings were used because apparently UTG and LOG don't own or know how to use a $20 digital caliper--nevermind a micrometer set. I stated it was not the damn lifters and pushrods being too short. I stated it was either eating itself ( I still think there are more nasty surprises ahead) or it was mixed up caps or wrong mains etc... The way the oil pressure when hot actually decreased as Nick increased RPM (kept testing?) told me it was fugged mains. I know because I've had it happen.

A couple (few) of thoughts here:
1. Something is still wrong IMO because of how labored it sounds when cranking.
2. Too large of a clearance is actually the best case scenario for a number of reasons
3. As it is it ain't gonna make 300hp
4. It sounds like he is unwilling to completely disassemble and clean it properly--hence my comment on more nasty surprises ahead.
5. This is a trainwreck I cannot look away from. J.Rob

So they did not plastic gauge when they assembled???

That would have been caught then...

Always plastic gauge or check the clearances with micrometers!!!

I told everyone that UTG is a total hack, no one on the site believed me, hahahaha. The guy is a 100% JOKE

Notice how loose the caps fit the main saddles...and how expert engine building YouTube legend "uncle tony" left one rod bolt loose.

Even without measuring anything.........If someone would have bothered to look at the back of the bearings that came out of it..........

Sorry guys I'm not watchin 1/2 hour of that. It doesn't take 1/2 hour of waving your hand at the camera to 'plain that "we (somebody) screwed up and didn't mike anything"

Hes very careful not to blame the guy who plastered his stickers all over the build, lol

He did at 11:50. That's why he bought the wrong ones, as he took out the wrong ones and just ordered up some new wrong ones. Someone may have done the same thing if relying on the old bearings stamping.

There's money to be made here... just follow the trail of pocketbook-damaged afficionados and help them pick up the pieces LOL
