How many miles on the plugs, looks like they are still in new condition? Obviously, not running too rich. Looks good unless you are going for all out horsepower performance (opinion of the author).

hmm, i would say about 3,000 its my second daily driver.

Just barely enough to get a good reading unless you have been doing a series of full throttle runs.
i actually was lol pissing off my neighbor with his monte carlo. i probably pulled 8 WOT before i took the picture.

Not a really good foto, these are from a stock '65 273 that have a lot of miles on them. The two on the top left of foto #1 and on the right of foto #2 show a lot of fuzzy, sooty, oily buildup. The other six (although difficult to see) are just a nice light golden brown. Stock motor with high mileage that I would not attempt to re-jet.

You tune the primary 1st.

Its fat a low speeds, off idle and or primary...and it could be pulling the rods out too early

Idle mix 1st

Spend the money and buy an air fuel ratio gauge. And install it properly. Like $350 but it will save your a ton of time, spark plugs and burnt fingers getting hot plugs out. MHO of course.
