I've read a couple little things here and there but never gotten a straight answer. I have a dart sport 318 and I want to drop in the 340 that I have. What all do I need to do to drop in the 340? I heard all I have to do is change the driver's side engine mount. Is this correct? And what's the best one to get? Any other tips or advice would be great! Thanks guys!

There always seems to be discussion about this. All I remember is, when I put a 340 into my '70 RR body years ago (318 was only SB offered in B bodies then) I used 318 engine brackets and 4? washers under one bolt.

When I went from 360 to 340 to 318 in my old FJ -40 Landcruiser, I used the same engine brackets that came on the 360--were out of a 74 Dodge pu. I don't remember any important issue between the engines.

the 273/318 and 340/360 use a different engine bracket on the driver side of the engine..

the 318 bracket is wider then the 340 bracket...you can put a spacer or stack of washer to shim the 318 bracket to work on the 340/360..

The 340 is currently in a J-bod. Think I can use the same mount, but in the Dart?
