If you run a 318 at the track ,what is your current setup and ET.
Thanks ...8)

Had mine at the track today. 318 / 904. 8.75 sure grip with 3.91. Ran a very consistent 14.10. Motor has headers, Eddy intake, MSD and Eddy carb.

Can you give some details? Cam? Thanks

stock cam and heads. Was running 110 octane race fuel. Interior is gutted. I am pretty sure that is all I will ever get out of that motor.

My first 318 ran 13.92 in my 65 Barracuda; stock short block, 273 heads with 1.88, 1.6 valves, heads cut .030 to raise compression, Edelbrock Performer intake, 3310 Holley , Crane Blazer cam, Thorley "D" Dart headers 166K Mopar converter, 904, 3.55 gears, 215/70x14 rear tires.

My last 318 went 12.54 in the same car(though it had under gone extensive weight reduction), same short block, Comp Cams XTQ281S-6 cam, angle milled 360 heads, Torquer II intake 750DP holley, 4.88 gears 275/60x15 Micky Thompson Drag radials.

318's run if you give them the 3 C's.........compression, cam shaft, carburation

318 ran last season: 030 over KB-845 pistons, "302" heads w/stock 1.78/150 valves ported by me(I don't know what I'm doing), comp XE-274S solid cam, air gap intake, 750 mech sec carb, 1-5/8 doug's headers, 2800 stall 904, 4.30 gears, 3200# car went best of 13.34@101 at Bandimere(5800' alt), 8000' density altitude. More gear/convertor would have helped a bunch.

had my 68 dart 270 out last weekend, ran consistant 14.3 @ 99mph
pretty well stock with tti headers, 600 vac sec holley, performer manifold. Still got the colomn shifted 904 with factory convertor, and worst still the single spinner 2.76 geared 7 1/4 rear. Cant wait to get a convertor and the fraud 8.8 installed over winter down here

My combo from last year:

'73 Scamp at a very portly 3640 lbs with driver (yep, it was weighed at the track with about a half tank of gas)
Street car with full interior
No subframe connectors or any kind of chassis stiffening
90/10 Lakewood shocks up front, CE adjustables rear
SS springs

'75 318 block .030 over
forged crank
KB399 dome pistons
Eagle SIR rods
Milodon pan, pickup, and HV oil pump

587 heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, ported by Aerohead
Comp 282 solid cam, .495 lift/236 dur @ .050
Hughes 1.6 rockers, bringing lift to .528

Holley 650DP sitting on a port matched Weiand Action+
1 5/8 Hedman street headers
2.5" exhaust to the bumper with cutouts

TF727 with 9.5" PTC converter, brake stalls to 3600
8.75 rear with 3.91 gears and 25" M&H DOT slicks on steel wheels

Last runs of the year, it ran a 13.27 @ 101.2.

OK...My 318 fooled me today. I ran back to back 14.06 with a back to back 0.033 light. So come time for eliminations I put 14.04 on the window. Wouldn`t you know......I ran a 14.03 with a 0.35 light and broke out. Tomorrow I will put 14 flat on the window and hopefully be playing it safe.

What was your previous carb and did you put a 650 double pumper on..... I hope my 318 hits that time at the track

73 Swinger, stock 318, Performer intake, Holley 600 carb, headers and 2.5" exhaust, stock 904 trans and convertor, 355 gears, 26x9.5x15 drag radials. 14.805 @ 90. I want to get into the twelves with heads, cam and convertor.

Lol taxi cab haha

Ya I'm going with a holley 650 should help a lot and then THE BOTTLE .... I'm still thinking about it

You could more than likely get away with a double pumper up top.
