Hell of a job Rusty, looks sweet. That's going to be a great 56. Love that Hemi.
Where did you find that intake?

I love it. Just not the zoomies. You’ll drive it once and change em. I vote to put a real exhaust on it. But Ill still love it regardless. What’s the rest of the truck look like?

Believe it or not, on ebay. It came off a 354 Power Giant in a dump truck.
More info on the intake and carb setup please. Did you make adapters for the 2g carbs? What carbs did it have originally? Is that a factory manifold for a dump truck or aftermarket? Thank you.

Intake is a factory dual one barrel intake. They came on the 354 Power Giant engines in dump trucks, fire trucks and other medium duty applications. I found the adapters at Summit by Trans Dapt. Carburetors are the big 2GC GM two barrels.

Here's a sales picture.

Rusty is the water pump a conversion? I've been looking at the Hemi heads conversion for my 392.

Yes. Big Chevy. I bet it lost close to 75 pounds on the front. The timing cover and water pump housing and pump were all cast iron and huge and HEAVY.

Buddy you are up too late. I'm on the west coast and you are burning to much midnight oil.
Its tough on us old dudes.
Thanks brother, watching your build because i have a 54 Town Panel that needs your Style in it.

Hey Rob , if you don't have the Head flanges to fit your heads, there is a guy that plasma cuts all that stuff on ebay. "Hells Gate Hotrod: makes nice parts and was reasonably priced.

Cool lookin' engine. Rob.
I actually have one of those original intakes and 2 1 barrel carb set ups.
My dad had a sand and gravel business in the '50s and ran Hemi Dodge trucks.

You could do real exhaust and zoomie exits before the wheels.

...or stacks like an LRE.

I priced zoomie pipes for a stillborn mad max-esque charger project.

$$$
