340 & 727 weight ???

Anyone know the approximate weight of a stock 340 and 727 combined ?? I wanna make sure the hoist I'm looking to buy is plenty strong enough .. It's a 4,000 lb total, but when the boom is fully extended it's only rated for 1,000 lbs. This oughta work, no ??

About 525 for a 340 another 200 or so for a 727/verter

Try to keep the boom at the shortest length.

I've used a HF hoist, fully extended, to lift a 440/727. No biggie.

i pulled my 340/727 out on the 1/4ton setting. Also, it hung there all night long without any problems. That DOES NOT MEAN you should let the engine hang any longer than it has to. Grab a used tire and aim the oil pan right in the middle of the tire and you're good to go.
