340 cam

-
Part # 710031-12. .450" / .465" x 267* / 277* duration @ 0.050" 213* / 223* LSA 112*. I looked, but I couldn't find valve overlap. I think it's a pretty close replacement 340 cam.
I know Mopar Performance used to have the Radical Resto cam. I had one in a tin Grill Club cab, with 360 heads on a 318 with a 650 Holley and electronic ignition, with 4:10s, actually my gears came out of that truck, before they went into 3 other rides, and I'm running them today still. That 318 in that truck, would slap up roast 'em, get down, get up, and boogie! Then, we put it in a Ram Charger with a convertible top, Man, that truck was fun, it had some torque in low4 !

Do you think that the cam I listed would be a nice cam for a mild 360?

I think that’s about 10+ degrees smaller than the OEM cam.
I’ll check tomorrow.

Yes, stock converter, Hwy gears OK. Smooth idle. It’ll work really nice with a 4bbl carb. Even exhaust manifolds if you wanted to.

Stock 340 automatic cam. .429 / .444 x 268* / 276*

Advertised durations are the same but durations @050 are different. The cam I was thinking about earlier isn’t a stock one.

That Howards cam looks like the old 214/224 camshaft that works really well. That 112 LSA UGH. Might be cut with more aggressive ramps than the old school cam

It is larger than a stock auto 340 camshaft. About the same as the 4 speed cam.

It reminds me of the old Crane Cam I had. .454/.484 on a 112.

im ready to bring my 69 340 to the machine shop soon, after reading @RustyRatRod thread about hod rod bliss immediately i knew what i want in my next build. I decided a stock 68 340 4-speed cam would fit the bill. Chrysler engineers knew what they were doing back in the day....Rich

I’m building a 73 340 for my 66 dart wagon. It’s 30 over. I’m using 68-71 pistons to up the CR. I plan on using an edelbrock performer dual plane intake that I have. I have an 8 3/4 with 3.55 suregrip and I have electronic ignition. This isn’t a race car, just a street car. I was hoping to get some opinions on a decent cam for it. My car does not have power steering or brakes.
