they had replacement blocks had a 340 replace the 273 4bbl in my 68 GT convertable back in 1969I don't ever recall a "crate 340 engine " available from ma mopar going back into the mid to late 70's. At that time I was working at a GM. dealership and would get parts from Chrysler dealers for dealer trade prices. Purchased factory 1/4 panels, fenders etc. If a 340 crate engine was available I would have purchased one. Maybe not available in Canada ?? Kinda glad I didn't cause I would have dumped my #'s matching 340 which I still have.

I'm sure they had replacement blocks for warranty purposes along with any other parts that failed. What I'm referring to is after these parts including engine components are depleted they become obsolete. As far as I know after this time frame passed Chrysler didn't start reproducing 340 engines. Again I maybe wrong but by the mid 1980's I was not able to purchase one from a dealer here in Canada unlike what GM offered at that time.they had replacement blocks had a 340 replace the 273 4bbl in my 68 GT convertable back in 1969
and??Well I got a one still in cosmoline
In 75' I tried to buy a crate 340 for my 72' Van and was told, "non available". It's probably a 360. I didn't mention it to be a Hi compression or low, just was told NONE available. Now, if it was bought before 75 and was available then, you may have something there, if it was stored well. LET THE BIDDING BEGAIN!!!!!!I was around back then, but i don't recall DC offering a 340 crate...
