Just curious, what's a 340 weigh relatively complete???

I'm going to look @ an engine stand with a 750 lb capactiy, is that sufficient?

Should be ok, get a 4 wheel style less tipping issues and a break apart style for storage. Summit has a decent price on them. I think I like the 1000-1200 lb models.

4 wheel engine stand? YEP! That gets my vote. Tipping an engine over really really sucks! Even the basic stands will hold a S/B easy.

Djw, are you sure those weights are on target? I just can't see the V-8 as the same (exact no less) weight as a /6.

I'd like to get it with a wider front wheel set, but that ought to do you well.

Well this is from an old Mopar book I scanned back in late 60s till 73.

I guess the block, that long crank and cyl head are a lot is my take?

These are all iron parts quoted from the book.

I bought the four wheel stand from Summit about 15 years ago and it has had a 440, 302 (I know, it was a weak time in my life but I was going to tuff it into my 4 cyl Ranger), 360, and now my 383. It has held up fine but I make sure to use grade 8 hardware to attach it to the stand.
