340 LA one piece pan gas gasket

Look up a 5.2 (318 Magnum)in a late model Jeep.Say a 1995 to a 2010.
You may have to get one from Chrysler direct.

Interesting, it looks close. Might need to add a hole.

The later one works, but you have to squeeze a bunch of goop in the corners due to the LA pan having a notch and the Magnum one piece gasket not having the same notch. So the later gasket doesn’t seal at the corners if you don’t take it into account.

That's exactly what I've been running for years. Works great. No leaks, and I tend to get 2-3 uses from them if I don't break it during removal.

Oh wait, just realized that later gasket only works on 360’s. The 318/340 used a bigger notch in the pan that matched the front while the 360 used a small notch in the back. The later gasket is for the Magnum motor and the 318/5.2 and 360/5.9 both used the 360 style pan.

Sorry about that.

Are you using this on an LA 340? P/N?
Thanks

Look for pre ‘91 Dakota 318 pan gasket. Should have the same large radius seal as a 340. After ‘91 they all were small radius. But the corners are different than the LA pans.
