Hughes engines has a great cam for what you want. Muscle car grind, 218/489 @ 108 lsa+3, I have one and it sounds like my old 509 purple shaft, seriously, but pulls like a pit bull with his head on fire, from idle up, with 14-15 pounds of vacuum at idle. They recommend their 1110 springs, and I went with it and I sure can't complain. I have a wicked sound, a quick jump and power from the gate. Stock TC, too. I am going with their roller rockers next.
