340 oil filter adapter questions

I have the elec oil sending unit on my engine for my gauged cluster. I also want to add a mech gauge on the car.
Can I use the oil filter adapter to add the mech gauge line in the area marked here?
There is a pipe plug with square end , same as in this photo. I can not get a rachet to fit that square slot. Any suggestions?

Why not make a "T" where the idiot light goes (near the distributor)? That's where I put my electric oil pressure gauge's sender.

I agree, plumb a T into the oil sender location.

The aftermarket gauges come with plastic tubing, so if mounted to the adapter it would be too close to the exhaust manifold & pipe for comfort.

Why use both? The mechanical, if of reliable make, will be far more accurate than the cluster gauge.
