Whats the going rate on 71 340 short block ? forged crank,rods I thinks the pistons are replacments . All seem to be std and used.

seen in the $1200-1600 range no cam right?

But have seen much higher, the 340's are getting kinda hi for the numbers matching crowd..

No way, Thats to much. Short block has no heads so its a block, crank rods and pistons. $400 to $800 tops depending on condition.

Last 340 I sold I got $900 for. It was complete but had late 360 heads, Had an LD340 intake.

Last 340 I bought I paid $2500 for and came with a dyno sheet for 480hp.

I have it and I am prob going to get rid of it.I also have a 71 360 block and some other goodies.

My price was one for a rebuilt 340 Adam with new pistons, a stock fresh crank, reconditioned factory rods and new bearings and rings. Price varies with bearings, pistons, and ring types.

OK, I thought you were talking cores. Theres a rebuilt Long block on here for $25o0 and a rebuilt short block for $1600. Both in the parts section.
 
No these are both cores. 340 is block,crank,rods,pistons,rings and bearings bolts etc but together not a basket case.360 is just a block.

When i built my stroker 2 1/2 years ago i paid $500.00 for the short block...
 
I paid 500.00 3 years ago for a short block out of a drag car. I just had the crank polished ,rings and bearing. Didn't need them but while its down I put them in. They have have been going up, I passed on one for 600.00 last year as I was broke. walt :cheers:

The last 340 block I bought I paid $30 for.
It was standard bore with caps and a 1969 block,it's .030 over now and in my 69 dart.

Bought a complete forged lower end for it all balanced with 11-1 arias pistons shipped to my door for $525 and that was with the core charge for the crank as I wanted to keep my extra forged crank.Speed-O-Motive sells good stuff

By the way the year was 1984#-o
 
I dont need an engine but thanks anyway. I am going to get rid of some of my blocks.Just trying to figure on a price.
 
I was paying from $200-$500 for bare 340 blocks, depending on condition. LA 360s anywhere from $50-$200 same thing. Market sets the price. So pick a number and see what they tell you...lol

Rods 3418645 with Floating pins
Pistons 3671156 pentastar on all ,
Rod bearings bb481p date 3-82 0

I have a 340 block thats got a freash hone job,new freeze plugs (brass),the rods are eagle h beams and bme dome tops pistons hooked to them a steel crank thats ready to go and a 7qt pan and pick up that I'll let go for about 1500.00 block is 30 over
