I need sixteen. I'm trying to build my 318 by adding the stock 340 cam into it. lmk, thank you

I've got only 8 that are excellent so I may not be any help. I've got others buy they're in rough shape. Those came from another engine that has a lot of water damage.

Comp Cams 901-16

get a set of those...the MP P4120249 which is the 340 valve spring price has gotten stupid...

the comp are about 65 dollars..the MP are twice that price...

The stock 340 cam from 71 is essentially the stock 360 cam from 72 on...and the actual difference between the stock 318 cam (.390 lift) and 340/360 cam (.410 lift) is so minute as to not be an issue. Either cam is going to run out of snot long before 5500. Use your stockers and don't look back.
...Oh, and try to put that cam up about 4 degrees. You need all the advance you can get with that low squeeze 318.

I think that the .410 lift of the 340 cam is a bit understated. I run a 71 340 Demon in the NHRA stock eliminator and they list the specs for cam lift from what was given to them by Chrysler. That lift is .468/.472. The actual factory cams were more in the .450 range so there would be a little bit more difference than the 318 cam at .390 lift. But that's just from my experience with the NHRA stocker 340s.

All the respect for Stocker guys in the world here...I've only run two classes in my life, Stock and Top Fuel...and Stock was every bit as tricky! (Btw..I had the IHRA I/Pure record back in 87) At any rate, we're both wrong. The 71-73 factory stick was .430/.444. The one you described is close to the "restoration" cam offered by MP...and the 68 340 Stick cam.
What I recommended to the OP still stands though. The 318 springs will work just fine.

.............its the stock 360 cam at .410 lift..........stock 340 cam is .429 and .444.......i think the NHRA specs r off of the 68 stick cam.....yes, i've used the 340 cam with 318 springs.....but i do suggest the 340 springs......kim..........
