340 windage tray to oil pan edge fitment

Have you got it figured out yet ?
I have 7 windage trays and they are different, could be early to late model . Some with a notch on the one end , some with out the notch , half fit nice the others interfere with the oil pan . Try to bend it ? That doesn’t work because you torque the bolt down and you end up in the same place . I used one that fits good . Not sure why there was different width . Did they ever make them to tuck inside the oil pan rail ? Are mine bent ? Why do half mine fit and Half don’t ? All are stock ,
 
my guess is they wanted to save on shipping and pushed down on the center of the tray. it looks flatter than the one I had on my 318
 
On my 410 stroker 360 based I put stainless studs (from a rocker cover kit) and put nice 5 mm spacers before my windage tray as yes the crankshaft would foul on the tray. A bit of bending hear and there and it has been running this way for ten years without any problems.
