I was stationed in England when I heard the news!! I was devastated!! Skynyrd was my fave band, I had seen them just over a year before at Knebworth Fair in England, and they brought the place down!!! 90% of "Free Bird: The Movie" was filmed at that concert!!!

The "Workin for MCA" video in the preceeding post is from Knebworth!!! I am one of the specs in the audience!

Keep the music alive!!!

The Knebworth show was killer!, although I have only watched it on DVD(Freebird the movie). The ending always brings sad feelings of what could have been.

I agree 100%. Although, in Free Bird: The Movie, I think the songs "That Smell" and "Free Bird" are taken from OTHER concerts.... but the interviews during the DVD are great, too(although, one nit, Creddence did not play Knebworth Fair 1976, as one of the band members states).

Knebworth remains one of hte most awesome concerts I have ever attended, over 300,000 people, people selling drugs like hot dog vendors at a ball game, the line up was the Don Harrison Band(never heard from again), Hot Tuna(Jefferson Airplane spin off), Todd Rundgren and Utopia, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 10cc, and the Rolling Stones.

I think I paid $9 for my ticket.

This is from Knebworth, the stage was phenomenal, late at night, when the Stones came on, the upper canopy inflated, as did the walkway on the stage and it formed a massive set o lips and tongue, the Stones logo!!! was great
