Hi Folks, I am trying to understand the (I think) seat belt relay in my 72 Demon. It is part number 3588587. I no longer have the original front seat for this car. And I thought it was just a buzzer that is set off by sitting in the seat until you buckle up? Is that correct? And if so, I don't remember if it prevented the car from starting but I think it just buzzed and drove you crazy. If I wanted to discontinue it and be sure the car will still start, how should I approach the fix? Also, I changed out some dash parts and now I seem to have a 3 speed with delay wiper switch but the car came with only a 2 speed motor? However, the 3 speed switch plugs into the harness and I picked up a 2 speed switch and it does not even come close to the plugs going together? My build sheet wiper motor option is left blank? So I assume I have 2 speed. my 2 speed does have a small accessory ceramic plug on it. Could it be a delay wiper? I also know the car had a foot pump for the washer bottle??

the switch for the seat unplugs under the seat to replace the switch if it was bad. this would stop the buzzing
the harness is the same for either switch - just uses different terminals when attached.
72 2 speed wiper motors were different from early 2 speeds but none ever came with delayed wipers
the 3 speed/variables speed wiper motors got the upgrade to electric washers and the switch had the push to activate

My car a the relay bolted to the dash frame. If I just unplug it and don't use it, will the unplugged circuit still allow the car to start? Regarding the wiper motor. got the car with the motor and the dash in it. But I am changing the dash to auto meter gauges. I think I mixed something up. I need to go see if I bought a dash harness online for an Abody because the one that was in the car was trashed. I think the harness I bought has a 3 speed plug for the wipers. But I have a 2 speed original motor. Did some of the later (after 72) Abody cars come with 3 speed wiper motors. Maybe I should install a 3 speed motor and just plug in what I have? looking for some input to get this done easy? dash is on a bench out of the car now. Maybe I should look for a new harness with the 2 speed plug while I am able to get at it on the bench. Car is also an original a/c car which I will be hooking up and using an aftermarket up front system. Maybe I should check out Carlisle for a dash harness with the 2 speed wiper motor?

harness is correct for 72. Fuse box part number is 3588198. Wiper plug seems to have a 3 speed configuration? Unless it was the same plug for both 2 and 3 speed and they just dropped a terminal on the switch??? Also the fuse box has 7 fuses and every wiring diagram I bought including the 72 Manual shows only 6 fuse locations?? I also don't seem to find the wiring for the square 3 plug relay bolted to the dash frame. Mine has a three pronged plug with wire colors being gray, brown w yellow trace, and blue with white trace? Any clarification on any of these items would be really helpful?
