Don't forget a good timing set and degree the cam.
Do your homework on the lifters you choose.

I am not an engine builder but I built an LA 360 years ago and currently building a Magnum roller 360. Dunno your amount of expertise but the quality of hydraulic flat tappet lifters has been a major issue over the past few years. I would consider disassembling your current lifters and inspect them. Also pay close attention to the cam to lifter contact surface. The lifters must be slightly convex to spin properly in the bores. Make sure you soak the lifters in oil overnight and use plenty of engine assembly lube on the cam, lifters, pushrods and rockers. Prime the engine and check for oil flow to valvetrain. Use a good quality break in oil with high zinc/zddp. Car must start immediately. Avoid excessive cranking.Made by melling, got them on rockauto couple months ago

FWIW I would do the same inspection on any HFT lifter I purchased. Not just Melling brand. If I were to purchase lifters now I would go with Lunati Micro-trol but that is just MY opinion for a reasonably priced quality lifter from what I have read. But do your own research on recent reviews.Thank you for your advice!! Imma call summit and get the right stuff for it thank you
You could but they won't be holding the spring very well. Comp makes a 744-16 that works with the 901 springs. With those springs can I run the stock retainers and keepers?
