360 Intakes

what intake you guys running on your 360's????....i have a BRAND NEW edelbrock torker(i think) that was mounted on my motor but NEVER ran that ill be selling because i dont care for it.
 
I've run the TorkerII360, RPM air gap, LD340 and factory iron T-Q intake. The TorkerII360 is for the track more than the street. Best used with a hi stall converter. It doesn't make that much torque down low and is best to skip that rpm band below 4,000 and launch it hard with that intake.

well,i have a 8" 4200 converter and 4:56's and i race ALOT on the street!! :headbang:
 
i have a torker2 340 on my 360 dont know how i feel about bc i have yet to go down the road in it yet........what back space are your pro stars
 
I give a vote for the M1 single plane or Victor 340. If you want a dual plane the RPM air-gap hands down. I didn't lose any low-end when I went from the RPM to the M1 but I picked up huge on the high-end. I spin my 318 up to 6200.
 
have a holley strip dominator on my 340 and it makes some serious power at high rpm and fits with a 5" airfilter under a sixpack scoop, but its alot less powerfull at low rpm than eddys rpm manifold, just seat of the pants tested unfortionaly

BTW what rpms are the M1 singelplanes recomended power range? just nice to know
 
Mike, It has some port work done in the plenum and Im sure its gasket matched.

As for the heads, Im not sure what they flow. I never asked him.

whats your specs on your motor again??

starts pulling a good 1000rpm earlier than the strip dominator and should be equal at the top end, think my holley strip dominator wil be changed know! thanks for the info! :headbang:
 
Mike, Yes they are HS, 1.5s And No I really dont have a clue what the heads flow but I will ask Dwayne if he has a flow sheet. Im not racing Super Stock, no need to hide #s.

Heres the build.

* Melling oil pump
* double roller timing set
* Crower 262/265 @ .050, .575/.585 solid lifter cam
* Crower lifters
* ported 587 heads with MP 2.02/1.60 valves, milled for true 11:1 CR
* bronze guides and hardened exhaust seats
* Crower dual springs
* Comp 10deg retainers and machined locks
* Edelbrock Victor intake, gasket matched, mild plenum mods
*HVH 1" spacer
*Profrom 750
* Harland Sharp 1.5 roller rockers and HD thick wall shafts
* Crane pushrods
* MP moly coated fuel pump eccentric
* MP OEM replacement 340 damper
 
Not trying to be too critical here - but if I understand from previous posts, you are building a mild perormance 360, why would you not go with the Performer RPM or Airgap with a range of 1500-6500rpm. Me thinks it would give you way better performance in the rpm range your engine will be operating most of the time.
 
I never go past 6200 RPM on my 318 and the M1 far out peforms the RPM intake I had on the car. I'm not saying the RPM is a bad intake...far from it but it is a street intake not street/strip. And if I know Mike this car will see the track. That is why I feel the M1 is ore suited to his needs.....this is just my opinion though. In all reality I think the RPM Air-Gap or M1 would be the best choice and I throw my vote to the M1.
 
I may be blind, but I noticed no one mentioned a Holley Street Dominator. I am building a 360 and I am slapping the Street Dominator that I previously had on my 318, no question. The intake is great on the street from 2000-5000 rpm's.
 
WOW! You dug up this ol'thread?!?! He he he.

That intake is best in a mesuem or used for a boat anchor. But, if you like it, you like it. It's just that theres much better out there nowerdays.
