360 magnum flex plate to A904 torque converter

Question: when the magnum flex plate is bolted to the torque converter, should the edge of the outer rim touch the torque converter or does it make contact only on the bolt mounting pads?

Never noticed the outer rim on mine making contact, just the pads. 2001 5.9 magnum stock flexplate bolted to a 72 904 with stock converter.

OK, I haven't actually put the bolts in yet, just checked the set back. Just wondering, it looked like it'll touch, but I'll find out when I tighten the bolts.

I bolted it up, it doesn't appear to be touching the torque converter, but I would need a feeler gauge to figure out just how close it is.
