Hi, I've done some searches on here and pretty much answered all my questions. Much better site for SB topics then any others.

I have one question regarding my 360 Magnum. I have to buy a flex plate for it because i threw out the one from the motor.... my issue is its a 94 or 95 engine and the flex plate is a different part # then 96+ magnums.
So because i'm putting a Profession products dampener on #80012 balanced for 360 magnum, should i use 96+ flex plate with my neutral torque converter?
Just wondering if they weighted them differently for the first years compared to later? I dont want a harmonic vibration later on.

Thanks

Everything I read says all they did was move the weights on the back end from the converter to the flexplate...the balancers should all be the same for all 5.9 Magnums. I would just use the weighted flex plate with a neutral converter...

yeah...took weight off converter and put on flexplate...now you can use neutral balancer...

also I believe the flexplate to converter bolt pattern no longer has one offsetted lug since there is no need to made sure the weight on the converter is located at a certain position...

so if you have an older converter with the offsetted lug...you will need to enlarge one of the flexplate holes.

Thanks for the help guys!
I was hoping that was all they did.
I have a 360LA in my car thats burning a lot of oil and needs some attention. I was hoping i could just do the swap on a saturday and be done with it, lol maybe a late saturday project.

Really appreciate the input!

...RockAuto has two different part numbers for flexplates...94-96, 97-03. They also don't carry the 94-96 weighted torque converters.

Correct, and don't worry about it. Did the 99 swap. Knock ed the weights, of my 360 LA balanced converter. The flex plate, had none. Good to go.
