Or fill it with epoxy block filler, set the piston to wall and ring gap to air cool specs, and run it on methanol...

I agree. You can pretty much tell by the path that it's just imperfections. Cracks never follow a straight line.

Because there is no parting line there where the multiple pieces of the block are put together.

So it’s not a flaw or a casting mark or anything of the sort. It’s a crack.

I have dry and wet mag’d so many parts I can’t count them. That’s a crack.
