Got a bit of a problem...i needed a crankshaft pulley for my 360 magnum with LA timing cover/V belt setup. Purchased one off a fellow forum member and installed it on the motor but then when i went to install my water pimp pulley it was too big in diameter and was hitting the crankshaft pulley, its like a full inch too wide... so i need whatever pulley is supposed to work with this setup...pics included with measurements of what i currently have

Are you looking for the 60's style pulleys of the 70 and later style????

There's a difference...

to be honest i have no clue...its a 98 360 magnum motor and we put an LA style timing cover and water pump. we had no pulleys so i made a post about getting some and what i have is what someone said was what i needed...lol

i need a pulley thats about 3 inches deep and a diameter of no more than 6 inches.

From my limited experience, the 3 groove crank pulley is for an AC equipped car, a single or double groove crank pulley requires a different water pump pulley than AC 3 groove. Offset and diameter are different.

for a non -A/C and PS 70-up small block this is what you need..... don't forget the proper alt bracket too...

Ok I finally got time to look for some pulleys. I have two that may work. Both are 6 1/2 wide & single groove. One is 3 inches high & the other 2 inches high. See attached pics. $10 each plus shipping

Both wrong. Top is a a/pulley and bottom is pre 70.

You need the proper crank pulley to go with the proper wp pulley and you’ll need the proper alt bracket.

Just some info . I saw looking at your pics you do not have the correct bolts in the timing cover. Be careful when installing the bolt in the left/Drivers side second from the bottom bolt.

Just a tad to long and it will crack #no. 1 cylinder. And it doesn't take much force at all. Do that and you will find coolant in the oil pan and the motor is junk.

You would not believe how many I have seen over the years. Guys doing their own timing chain to save money and they ruined their block. Measure the depth of the hole and use a 1/8 shorter bolt.

People usually take the power steering bracket off and use the bolts that held it on. They install them without the bracket because they forget it or they are eliminating power steering. Either way that is a No No . this will instantly destroy a motor. Just a 1/16 to long and you crack the cast cylinder. Like I said you won't even feel it when you crack it. There were some that came here that the motor would not even turn.

If no one chimes in with pullies I believe I have a set. Here is what you need

I have an Nos one for a 340/360 w/manual steering so single grove. It was mounted on an early engine so the one bolt hole was filed to fit as it was on an offset bolt pattern not the newer symmetrical pattern. Pm If interested $78 shipped

ordered the brand new one from the provided website above. Will let everyone know if it works when it arrives

Did you order just one or the entire set?

Crank pulley, water pump pulley and alt bracket are a set. Without one of the three things won’t be right.
