I bought a 318 out of a 91 1 ton with a 4spd, will that flywheel work for a 833 4 spd, or do they differ from truck to car?

It'll work. The issue with flywheels is like for torque converters. Internal or extrnal balance.

Rob, are you sure? A 1 ton truck would have one of those 4spds with a granny first gear. I thought they had bigger flywheels, bigger bell housing and used a bigger clutch than the car 4spd.

trucks are typically 143 tooth flywheels and A-body small blocks use the 130 tooth flywheel, other than some 66 and earlier model.

If you need the proper 130 tooth wheel, go into the parts store and tell them you have an 87 dakota with a 3.9 V6 and you will get the right wheel.

Dave;

The flywheels are swapable, but you do make a good point that I should have wrote down. I did think about the larger 11 (10.95) flywheel, but failed to mention it not really thinking the reply through.
