4 speed shifter ball colors ? 65 barracuda/dart

My 65 formula S shifter ball is black in color and my 65 dartcharger came with a White shifter ball. what determined if it got a white or black shifter ball?
 
Keep in mind that there was a mountain of aftermarket shift knobs offered over the years. Budweiser tap handle shaped ones...8-ball shaped ones...black, white, red, green, blue, yellow, gold, chrome and every other color ones...skull-shaped ones...polished wood ones…

'64 and '65 FPCs list only a white knob for the 4-speed shifter in the A-body.

This is my 65 dart charger I had . It was all original and documented. shifter ball was white.

I forgot to mention that my Formula S black ball has the shift pattern. . Sooooo many variations !
 
my 644 baacuda 273 4spd was bought from the original owner , and he never change anything . its a black without pattern on it . the radio got changed by a friend that barrowed the car from me , i'm still piss'd off about it . thought i would like it .what an *** .
