I'm looking to buy this transmission and want to know what it came out of before I buy it, here's the numbers.

right side tailshaft- C 96126-1
RT SIDE BODY C-99129
I.D. PLATE RIGHT SIDE- 9 423931
RR8332875 028

SIDE COVER- C95664 Z

Any help would be wonderfull, thanks, Dan.

I've never had much luck with transmission numbers. There are a couple defining features that are easy to look for though.

1. Long or short tailshaft?
2. How many shifter mounts does it have?
3. What is the input bearing retainer diameter?

Those 3 questions will tell you if it is a B/E/truck or A/F body trans, the general year range, and the gear ratio (big input bearing retainer is the 833 O/D).

I.D. PLATE RIGHT SIDE- 9 423931 - Most likely 9B 423931 from the Hamtramck plant (the car, not the transmission)

RR8332875 028 - PP is the assembly plant, but it escapes me right now. 833 is 833 - four speed transmission. 2875 is the final assembly date, June 11, 1969.

028 - is missing a digit, there should be one more?

Based on the 9B VIN;

If it has two shifter mounting points it is from a Charger.

If it has one it is from either a Dart or Barracuda.
