Hello all, newbie here. I have a question regarding my build. I have a 360/380 crate and I think I spun a bearing or have a rod knocking. Anyway, I ordered a 408 stroker kit from Indy and a set of Edelbrock heads. My question is do ya'll think I need to use the roller cam that cam with the engine or try a new roller from Competition or anywhere else? The pistons are forged and Indy said with the heads it should make for right around 10.0:1 compression with the stock block. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Darren O:)

A roller ca would be great. Expensive, but great. Not a mandotory item in anything, but a really nice power curve results.
Some people find it hard, impossible to justify or just scream get a solid fast rate and 1.6 rockers for a cam that will mimic a roller at half the price.

I don't by into it. I get a cam to suite the need and/or to satify the itch.

You can spec a cam (If your bold or smart enuff to do it right) or ask for a custom cam for mear shells more than a off the shelf cam.

IMO, OOTB Edelbrock heads are not bad for a stroker, but could use some "Prep" work on them to "Enhance" there performance with 400+ cubes.
Back cut the valves, mild porting, gasket matching, etc...
