Im building my first Chrysler/Stroker Engine.
Im looking for direction on my build. This is just gonna be a street car to cruise and have fun. This is what I have so far

70 Plymouth Duster-Full interior
68 340 .030 over
Molnar steel 4.0" stroke crank
Molnar H beam rods
Ross -22cc dished piston. advertised 10-1
Edelbrock heads (from Indy cyl)-360 performer 2.02x1.60 .509 lift spring 63cc
3.55 sure grip 489
Manual steering/Manual 4 wd brakes
28" mickey drag radials, mini tubbed
904 Reverse VB

Im trying to figure out the best cam/intake/converter. Looking more for lower end power rather than top end. Probably looking more at hyd cam as the roller setup may be later on in life. I do have a new holley 800 cfm carb and can rejet if needed. Bottom end is fully assembled.

Thanks for any help!!

thanks for the help...lol I must have the only 416 on here.

I wouldn't buy anything direct from indy , EVER! If you already have them, have a local shop look over the work, valve job guide sizing.

The biggest voodoo hyd cam or similar, ede air gap and a good converter (not shelf junk) in the 3500 range.

x2..heard enough horror stories about Indy to never buy from them..

voodoo cam biggest hydralic flat tappet, air gap , call ptc let them build you a convertor, call mike at mrl he will hook you up with cam combo and intake he knows his stuff, love my 416 he helped me with

Here is a mag article that I wrote a while back. I used a fairly small 236 duration cam in this 340 stroker since it was a street driven road race car. We also used a 650 DP carb. This car was a monster! It pushed that Valiant up to roughly 160 mph. Never took it to the drags but it would probably run 10's with slicks and gears. I think the car had 2.94 gears so we had to keep the cam and carb fairly small.

I second giving Mike at MRL a call he really knows what works best. He has helped with my 416 rebuild

LOL! @ AndyF! I remember that article. I thought that was pretty good considering the small cam and big out put. It would take a bit more cam in a stock stroke to get to 500/500. It's nice to see and read that it doesn't take a whole lot of cam with a striker and good heads to make good power.

Dave-O! There's a few engine builders here and a number of hot street guys and racers that have gone this far with there strokers. In the racers section there are stickies on what it takes to go "XX" in the 1/4. There broken down into time zones. Take a peak over there and see what others did to do it. You might find something you like.
