I have my 74 dart i am building for the 2013 Hot Rod power tour. i am going to take out the \6 and replace it. I have a freind that owns a large salvage yard. he has offered me a 440 / 727 out of a motor home 62,000 miles. i don't know much about bb dodge stuff. so is it the same as a car block and are they worth messing with.

use it. you may need a car 727 tailshaft , an oil pan, exhaust, mounts, driveshaft, torsion bars to include a brake upgrade and rear end, which im sure is already in the plan. there is nothing "special" that would prevent you from using it.

I narrowed a 9" this weekend and put it in, I had already relocated the springs. Thanks

That would be a 440-3 block,Depending on the year it could have some of those crappy angle plug heads or decent heads, forged or cast crank. the block has extra cooling holes but std heads will work with the right gasket,

Is there a park brake on the end of the transmission tailshaft? My 77 RV 440/tranny combo did. Nothing interchanges with a car 727, except the torque converter. You could always fab the tranny hump to make it work.
