46RE Rebuild?????

I'm having to rebuild the tranny in my 97 Ram 1500 4x4.. The infamous 46re.. Is there any upgrades I can do to this to make it any better? I've never heard a good thing about theses transmissions...:wack:

I just traded my 05 2500 in 4th tranny in 115000 miles and mostly normal driving, got a chevy with the 8.1 and allison im real happy with that setup, all trucks should drive like that.

they are not hard to rebuilt...the front half is a 727...the overdrive is pretty simple to overhaul...but takes a few tools to correctly do it....

there is a large spring in the overdrive that needs to be compressed and will take a shop press to do it with.....

there is an excellent video and ATSG manual that can be purchased together on the web...
and if you PM "someone" ...hint...he is know to supply people with a copy of the video...
