So I want to use a 46RH transmission behind my 76 LA360.
I have read that I can control the overdrive and lock up with just a pair of toggle switches. Can anyone tell me how to wire that? Is there a wiring diagram or something?
I cannot seem to find one anywhere.
I am sticking all this in my 56 DeSoto.
Thanks gang!

12 volts from the ignition switch to terminal #2. Switched ground to terminal #1 to engage the overdrive solenoid and switched ground to terminal #3 to engage the lock-up solenoid.
Yes. I didn't read his response correctly.

Why did they switch to using a switched ground instead of switched power? Alot of the newer vehicles are that way.

Some interesting things about that trans.
OD and or lockup can only engage once the trans is in 3rd gear.
This makes for some, shall we say unintended issues.

For example, driving along in OD and lockup and manually downshifting to 2nd gear will cause lockup, OD and 3rd all to disengage at the same time.
Probably won’t want to do that.:D

There are other interesting things you will find as well being manually switched.
Like cruising in town at lower speeds in 3rd and lockup feels like a stick shift trans because there is no converter cushion and the trans is being direct driven off the engine like a stick.

It’s all fun to play with as long as you don’t do that manual downshift to second at 80mph while in OD and lockup.
I don’t think anyone would do that, but ya never know.
