4wd 727 trans jeep wagoneer to 2wd?

I currently have a 1969 D Dart 340 with a 727 learning on this still.. hahaha
the trans needs a complete rebuild, a friend has a working 727 that he took out of a 1985 360 jeep grand wagoneer.
can it be converted to 2wd?
or could it be used for damaged parts?

Parts only. The block pattern between the 340 and AMC 360 are different. The AMC trans could be converted to two wheel drive, however, you still have the same problem of it not bolting up.

The case, converter, output shaft and extension housing are FSJ specific, otherwise it's a 727. My 83 Wagoneer 727 only had a 3 disk front drum from the factory, so keep tat in mind when raiding it for parts.
